General processing instructions: Control of other fungi
Determine the extent of the damage
An investigation must be carried out by a qualified expert to determine the type and extent of damage and the associated need for control measures.
Remove fungi and damaged areas
Remove mycelium, fruiting bodies and severely damaged wood, maintaining the safety distance specified in the standard; the wood must then be removed at least 30 cm beyond the visible infestation. With low damaged wood, whose load-bearing capacity was not unduly impaired, it is sufficient to remove only the damaged areas up to the healthy wood.
Replace wooden components
Newly installed wood must be impregnated in accordance with the current usage class in accordance with DIN 68 800. If necessary, treat the parts remaining in the structure with Adolit Holzbau B*.
Prevent future infestation
Take suitable measures (e.g. drying out the masonry, repairing defective water pipes, etc.) to prevent the wood from becoming damp again.
* Use biocidal products carefully. Always read the label and product information before use
